You may have noticed on various advertisements of ours that an EWT water softener will save you money…the purpose of this blog is to show you just how!

The savings mentioned here come from a few of the areas listed below:

We have a "cost savings calculator" on our website where you can enter your monthly spends on each limescale-cleaning product and work out what would YOU SAVE. Before you do so, I will explain HOW a water softener will make these savings for you!

Soaps' Savings 50%: Hard water contains large amounts of dissolved minerals, such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals react with the organic soap acid making it less effective and can form soap scum…and less lather!

Detergents' Savings 50-75%: Detergents in hard water will not leave soap scum marks like they would with a soap product as the reaction between the detergent and the minerals is water soluble. However, when there is a higher mineral content in the water (like in hard water) some of the detergent will get taken out of action, meaning when softened water is used you can reduce your usage.

No More Limescale Cleaning Products 100%: There are a lot of harsh chemical products out there designed to reverse the effects of hard water. These are mostly strong acidic products used to de-scale already scaled surfaces…however, this is a reaction to the problem and will not prevent further scaling.

Reduced Heating Bills by 20-30%: Minerals in hard water precipitate out when water is heated, that is why it is most noticeable in hot water devices such as your kettle. The same process will be happening to heat your water for showers and baths meaning even though you may not see it, there is likely to be large amounts of scale deposited inside, which can cause costly repairs and greatly reduce the efficiency when heating the water.

Good afternoon all, over the course of the next few, weeks, months and years I aim to enlighten you all on the pro’s and pro’s of having an EWT Water softener in your home.  There are many questions to be asked and explained on Water softening so if I forget to address any of your queries please contact me via the boxes below and I will answer your questions!

Firstly I’d like to welcome a couple of the new people to the EWT family,Mr Judge,Twickenham, Mr Nemcic, Essex and Mrs El-Kaddagh, London, all of which have had water softeners installed in their homes in the last few days and we encourage them to update us with how soon they are experiencing the benefits!

So…every day at EWT we receive numerous calls all because of one problem: HARD WATER! If you live in a soft water area, it is highly unlikely that you have ever heard of a water softener, where if you live in a Hard water area you will always remember how much better that shower, bath or Cup of Tea was whilst on holiday in a naturally soft water area.
